Credit Operations Manager

The purpose of this role is to lead a team of Credit Operations staff to deliver completion of lending facilities within the Bank’s policy, risk appetite and legal requirements. 

Other key accountabilities will be:

  • Contribute to, and drive the delivery of, the Bank’s annual lending budget.

  • Identification of policy or protocol exceptions, with suitable recommendations of any remedial actions required.

  • Ensure that all post-sanction administration procedures are timely and compliant with Bank’s policies and procedures, including the maintenance of appropriate MI.

  • Oversee and manage loan arrears through the recovery process for non-performing loans, in line with bank procedures.

  • Maintain good working relationships with all legal and valuer panel partners, to ensure smooth and timely exchange of correspondence and communication. Monitor and encourage delivery of valuations and loan completions within the Bank’s preferred timescales.

  • Plan and manage the workload of the Credit Operations team, recommending increases in headcount were appropriate.  Motivate and develop your direct reports and encourage the Bank’s positive culture and ethos throughout the team.

  • Contribute and work with the Director of Operations on strategic initiatives developed to improve the Bank’s performance, or controls, as requested.


The successful candidate will have significant experience in a commercial property/lending setting, with experience of post-sanctioning administration; strong knowledge of driving delivery of lending volumes and best practice approaches to loan facility documents and security. The candidate will also need to be able to manage relationships at key levels and be a team player with a collaborative style, to work across all areas of the business. The candidate is likely to have gained this experience in a Commercial Bank or new Challenger Bank.
