‘Fledgling’ football team Downham Town FC U9s has kicked off its third year in style thanks to Redwood Bank.
The youth team has secured backing from Redwood, a business bank headquartered in the east of England, as part of its Community Sponsorship programme that allows employees to nominate clubs and causes they feel would benefit from support.
Redwood’s Director of Finance Alex Hamilton, who is based in Downham Market, asked the specialist lender to support the club. Alex is the team’s coach and his son joined the team two years ago. the team needed new away kits for its third season.
Alex said: “Redwood is a great place to work, and this is a fantastic example of how it supports local communities and causes close to its staff’s hearts.
“I’m so grateful to Redwood for the support it has given Downham Town FC U9s – it has made a real difference to this fledgling team as they take part in their third year of football.”
