Our approach to ESG

We know that our choices as a business and as a specialist business bank have an impact on our customers, colleagues, brokers, suppliers, local communities and wider stakeholders.

A message from our CEO

At Redwood Bank, we are committed to driving positive change by integrating environmental, social, and governance (ESG) principles into our core business strategy. This ensures that we create value for our customers, investors and communities while contributing to a sustainable and fair future. ESG is not just an initiative for us; it is a strategic priority that defines our purpose and shapes our impact.

Kind regards,

Gary

Recognition and awards

We continue to be acknowledged for our commitment to sustainability, having achieved the prestigious Green Level under the Investors in the Environment (iiE) scheme.

Being awarded the highest level of environmental accreditation under the scheme marks a key milestone in our ESG journey and reflects the progress we are making in embedding sustainability across our business.

The recognition reflects the way sustainability is embedded across our business, from internal processes through to our wider social impact ambitions. It has been made possible through the collective efforts of colleagues across the Bank.

The achievement builds on our wider track record in sustainability and innovation. In 2025, we were shortlisted for the Best Social Impact Award at the iiE Awards, while our Green Cashback Reward won Best Innovation in the Mortgage Space at the MoneyAge Awards and was shortlisted for Innovation of the Year at the NACFB Commercial Lending Awards in 2024.

Our charity partners

We are committed to supporting the communities where we live and work through long-term partnerships with charities.

We are a Bronze Partner of One YMCA’s Corporate Connect Club, supporting programmes across Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire that focus on housing, health and personal development. Through this partnership, we are helping to strengthen crucial support services and improve outcomes for young people and families facing challenging circumstances.

We are also an Impact Patron of Warrington Youth Zone, continuing our support for its work with more than 5,000 young members each year. The Youth Zone provides a safe space for young people to develop skills, build confidence and realise their potential. Our involvement includes volunteering, fundraising initiatives and employee engagement activities.

Supporting our community

We believe in making a difference beyond our business operations. Our charity of the year programme supports causes that resonate with our employees and communities, while our volunteering initiatives give colleagues the opportunity to give back. We provide each colleague with one paid volunteering day per year to allow them to support the causes that matter to them and their communities.

We are deeply committed to upholding ethical standards and human rights. Our approach to modern slavery is underpinned by clear policies and a transparent supply chain. To learn more about our efforts in this area, you can read our 2025 Modern Slavery Statement.
