Lynton has 30 years’ experience within the Local Government finance sector. As a CIPFA qualified accountant he has held senior positions at Manchester City Council, Greater Manchester Police and Sefton Council prior to joining Warrington Borough Council in 2010.
Lynton is the Director of Corporate Services at Warrington Council, and has taken the Council through the process of being one of a handful of Councils with a Moody’s credit rating as well as being the first English Council to raise funds through a (£150m) City bond issue. Lynton is also on the Executive of the Society of Municipal Treasurers.
