Our people | Meet Ciaran Kilheeney

Ciaran Kilheeney joined the Redwood Bank team in December 2017 as a Business Development Manager for Warrington and the North & West region. With 14 years’ experience in the industry, Ciaran’s roles have included personal finance and mortgaging, as well as positions in the business and commercial banking world.
 

"The reason I like this role is because no two days are the same. I'm often out meeting clients and learning more about the businesses we have in the region. We operate in a fast-moving environment that demands innovation and flexibility. It's also great to be supported by such an expert office team."

Tell us more about your role at Redwood Bank and why you’re so passionate about it?

I strive to be the best I can be at whatever I do. By pushing myself everyday and seeing how we, as a bank, are helping our clients and actually lending money is so refreshing. The thing I enjoy most is helping a client who has been previously refused by another lender.

As a relatively new challenger bank, what made you choose Redwood Bank?

I relished the chance to work for a new bank and working to influence the future of business banking was something that really appealed to me. We are looking at lending facilities from £50k to £3m and the learning curve of the different size deals is something I really like. Redwood is a place where you are continually improving and learning new skills. 

 
Also, in the last eight months, the feedback has been very good, and I know we’re actively listening to our customers to continue to maintain, develop, and  enhance our offering.
 

And finally, if you weren’t a BDM for Redwood Bank, what would you be doing?

I’ve always been a sports fan, so something around that. But as a child I also liked history. A little-known fact is that I used to play football professionally and still love the game. Just nowadays from the comfort of my living room.
