Graham Reynolds, Chief Development Officer
As one of the first five people to join Redwood Bank in April 2017, Graham Reynolds holds the role of Chief Development Officer and is responsible for business development, relationships with our lending customers, and, as a member of the board, our overall business strategy and performance. Having previously worked for another challenger bank as Commercial Director, Graham brings with him a wealth of relevant business banking experience.
I find that one of the highlights of my role is helping Redwood Bank customers to achieve their goals, as well as supporting colleagues and helping them to achieve what they want from their careers.
Leaving my previous role was made easier because I was joining a startup and had the opportunity to be involved from the very beginning. The principles behind the company are extremely impressive and are a joy to learn from and work with. I would think of Redwood as less of a “challenge” bank, but rather a niche player, occupying a part of the market where this is genuine demand, but a lack of support and understanding.
The feedback we’ve had to date from customers, in a word, has been exceptional! I’ve met many exciting businesses across the UK and look forward to meeting many more.
It’s very difficult not to mention Brexit because it takes up so much air-time, but at this very moment in time, we don’t have anything concrete to go on. The biggest gamechanger that has really made a difference is technology and how we use it. It’s totally changed how we interact with each other, gather information, analyse that information, and what we can achieve once we have that information. Technology is already revolutionising the customer experience here at Redwood Bank.
Most of my colleagues at Redwood know I’m a fan of the beautiful game, so if I wasn’t here, I would probably be coaching football full time or teaching. It’s really important for me to be able to give back to my local community, and being a local, amateur, football coach helps to fulfil this.
