Jacqueline Pitts, Banking Operations Manager
Jacqui joined the Redwood team in June 2017 as Banking Operations Manager; overseeing all operations, with a special focus on customer feedback and service. Having spent over 18 years working for an investment bank in London, Jacqui brings a wealth of expertise and experience to her day-to-day role.
I’m very customer focused in my job and it’s great to get feedback from customers expressing how pleased they are with the deposit account opening process and speed of service. It makes me think about how I would like to be treated, and that’s what we strive to achieve, for each and every customer. When I think back to making the move to Redwood almost two years ago, I’m so glad I did. I get to work with new people, different products, and in an organisation that really does value its people.
I like the fact that Redwood is a challenger bank out to make a name for itself within a niche marketplace. It’s a fantastic opportunity to bring new ideas and thoughts and ultimately grow with the company.
Firstly, I think we can all expect to see more challenger banks emerging. This can only be a positive for the customer, and it’s a great opportunity for us at Redwood to focus on what sets us aside from the competition, and keep doing it. We’ve seen complacency in the banking market, and at Redwood we’re determined to never lose sight of how important our customers are.
Banking covers a wide spectrum, which allows you to find something that really interests you. My advice would be to learn as much as you can in all areas. A thirst for knowledge and a positive attitude will pay dividends in the end.
Something that I feel is a great achievement is a walk I completed for charity a few years back. A few friends and I signed up for the walk from London to Brighton – which was 100k!! We set off at 9:30am on the Saturday and crossed the finishing line at 1:30pm on the Sunday, walking constantly and just stopping for refreshments and food breaks. It was mentally, as well as physically, challenging, but the euphoria I felt at the end is something I’ll never forget.
