Redwood Bank boosts business lending team with two new appointments

Gareth Claxton has been appointed Business Development Manager for the South & East and Ciaran Kilheeney joins the Warrington & North West team in a similar role.

Commenting on the new appointments, Graham Reynolds, Commercial Director said: “We’re delighted to welcome Gareth and Ciaran to the team. Redwood Bank was launched in August 2017, becoming Britain’s newest business bank for small and medium enterprises (SMEs).

Gareth Claxton, who has more than 30 years' experience within both high street and challenger banking environments, said: "I’ve been blown away with the team’s dedication to putting the customer at the centre of the decision-making process, as well as Redwood Bank’s commitment to building its broker panel, as well as actually lending to its business customers! Ciaran Kilheeney, joins the Redwood Bank Warrington team

Ciaran Kilheeney, who has worked with a variety of customers and SMEs in his 13 years in the industry, including helping many to build property portfolios and own their own commercial premises, added: “Redwood Bank is really making its mark in Warrington & the North West. 

“I’m looking forward to helping our local SMEs and brokers achieve their development ambitions, as well as playing my part in the continued growth of Redwood Bank in the region. I am really proud to join the Warrington team.”

Gareth Claxton, new Business Development Manager – South & East region. Gareth has more than 30 years' experience within both high street and challenger banking environments. He has held senior positions at both Santander and Aldermore covering credit, new business, and leadership roles. He is also experienced as a broker. His most recent role was at Aldermore as commercial mortgages national sales manager. Throughout his career, Gareth has focused on helping small businesses and property investors in achieving their goals.

Ciaran Kilheeney, new business development manager – Warrington & The North West region. Ciaran has 13 years’ experience in the banking industry, working for the Royal Bank of Scotland Group in the north west of England, predominantly in Greater Manchester area and Cheshire, including Warrington. He has held a variety of roles including mortgage advisor, business manager and commercial manager and has worked with a variety customers and SMEs, including helping many to build property portfolios and own their own commercial premises.

Graham Reynolds, commercial director and board member. Graham has more than 25 years’ experience in banking, working across a number of different fields. He has held senior roles at both RBS and Nat West, including managing director of global transaction services for the bank’s entire SME business. Prior to that he was a regional managing director of commercial banking. Most recently Graham held senior positions at Metro Bank including head of commercial operations. This role included building the commercial proposition, developing new products and creating the operating model.
