Redwood Bank were crowned champions in the recently completed Padel tennis corporate league at Canary Wharf.
Led by Jonathan Rowland, Redwood Bank's team overcame a host of competitors including tournament sponsor Estrella Damm, BP and BBVA Bank among others.
The Canary Wharf Pop-Up Padel respresented the sport's coming of age in the UK and even featured an appearance by Wimbeldon's newly crowned mixed doubles winner Jamie Murray.
Padel Tennis is the fastest growing sport in the world with over 10 million players worldwide. In recent years, the sport has seen high levels of growth in European countries including the UK, Sweden and France.
The sport is a hybrid of tennis and squash, played on a court half of the size of a traditional tennis court.
For almost three weeks, Canary Wharf saw a pop up Adidas Padel court installed in Montgomery Square, with the aim of attracting new players and offering world-class exposure.
The event - organised by WeArePADEL in collaboration with the sport's acting governing body British Padel - attracted large crowds eager to learn more about the sport.
WeArePADEL proudly supported the charity Action for Kids and donated a percentage of revenue from court rentals and the corporate league.
This event would have not been possible without the help and commitment of the sponsors Canary Wharf Group, Adidas, Estrella Damm and Aspall.
Jonathan Rowland, Co-Founder of Redwood Bank said, "We're thrilled to have taken part in Pop-Up Padel and winning the tournament was the icing on the cake. This event has not only given the sport's profile a tremendous boost but also helped to raise valuable funds for Action for Kids."
